club research – new cultures of science

club research is a discourse platform open to everybody. It is addressed to people dealing with research, science, technology and innovation in various positions and professions. Its events offer real spaces of debate and reflection.
On 20 April 2010 club research organised an event on the topic “New cultures in science: Do women do research differently?” in cooperation with the w-fFORTE programme.

Susanne Bührer of the Fraunhofer Institute for Systems and Innovation Research gave an introductory speech, presenting the findings of her study "Women in the innovation system – achieving success in a team". The study examined how organisational structures need to be changed in order to comprehensively provide the innovation system with the female researchers’ ability and willingness to perform.
A panel discussion followed, with Talin Barisani-Asenbauer – head of a Laura Bassi Centre – participating, among others.
