Ursula Haberle

stunts and structures e.U. public relations, Vienna | Austria

As a PR-consultant for architects I spend plenty of time visiting architecture – from construction sites to city developing areas, from modern single houses to old urban centers. Of course I also spent time in offices, in those from my clients as well as in my own. But as offices are not my favourite „place of action“ I chose pictures of my outdoor work.

Beatrix Neundlinger

Supervisor and musician, Vienna | Austria

In my work - in my songs and in my daily work as a coach and supervisor - the social aspect is always most significant. One of my personel principles is "Work may - better must - also give pleasure". You will find more information on my website: www.9dlinger.at

Treating children is challenging and rewarding in the same measure. My research into resorbable implants for the treatment of children's fractures will make a second operation to remove the implant unnecessary. This I hope will reduce the number operations carried out on children.

Even as a little girl I was fascinated by powerful natural phenomena, lightning with unimaginable energy, majestic sunsets, heavy missiles that could fly up into space - and through my studies in theoretical and experimental physics at the University of Innsbruck and various research positions e.g. at the Berlin synchrotron BESSY I got so many secrets on the track. And yet there is still so much to explore - now even „interdisciplinary“ – in strong collaboration with chemists, biologists and medical people.
Both as a manager of my small company rho-BeSt coating, in which besides own production research projects in the field of thin carbon films within an international scientific network can be realised and as a scientific director of the Laura Bassi Centres of Expertise DiaLife in which optimal career opportunities and networking are offered for young scientists, I enjoy the diverse spectra of my work - managmenent, sales and distribution, financing and development of new products. I am particularly happy to have also attracted the interest of my children about my work - the balanced mix of work and leisure - and never to lose the curiosity.

I am leading the research group Molecular Plant Biotechnology at the BOKU-VIENNA. I am most interested in the development of plant based expression systems that allow the rapid generation of highly efficient recombinant therapeutic proteins.

Laura Bassi Center of Expertise Dia Life

During my only few year lasting education and work, I had the chance to visit several amazing places in and out of Austria to study. The best experiences I had in San Diego, California, so far where I worked at the Departement of Cardiology at the School of Medicine within the University of California, San Diego. For my PhD, I am currently living in the capital of the Alps, Innsbruck where I have the chance to work in a tissue engineering and stem cell project following great ideas. DiaLife involves many international partners from several disciplinies which teaches a lot in terms of interaction, flexibility and different ways of performing research. I am curious where the future will take me, anyway, I will be there. With open arms and open eyes.

Irene Kranzioch Masters student at the Fraunhofer IGB in Stuttgart. I am studying in an International study-programme at the University of Applied Sciences in Offenburg, during this I had the possibility to go to a foreign country and study at the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn (Poland). Now I have decided to do my Master-Thesis at the IGB in Stuttgart, because the research field of cell-systems is very interesting and gives a lot of new possibilities to do more research. Due to my study-programme it is very fascinating to work within DiaLife, because there is the possibility to learn a lot of how big projects are working and how it is when research groups from different countries are working together. I am looking forward where the future will bring me. Hopefully I can do some more work in the field of cell-systems when my studies are finished.
