In the following you may read a short portrait by Teresa Arrieta about the IMP:

Joint research on molecules

The “Research Institute of Molecular Pathology” (IMP) at the Biocenter Vienna is devoted to biomolecular basic research, with support from Boehringer Ingelheim. 16 independent research teams deal with computational and structural biology, cell and developmental biology, epigenetics, neurobiology and immunology. According to IMP researcher Peggy Stolt-Bergner, who heads the collaboration, the entire Biocenter Campus is likely to profit from the cooperation with COSS. “Through COSS we get to collaborate on the development of technologies that support our research objectives”, she says. “COSS could develop an innovative, globally applicable method for studying molecules. Researchers beyond Austria’s borders would profit from this.”

Laura Bassi Centre establishes innovation

Peggy Stolt-Bergner considers the innovative Laura Bassi Programme design with its application-oriented focus on equal opportunities, management and personnel development to be pointing toward the future: “The training and further training that is part of the programme is essential for a career in research these days. We can fulfil our research objectives more swiftly using multidisciplinary scientific approaches at the interface with the economy and they correspond to current demands in molecular biology.”
